     101.  Name.
     The Legislature of the State Government shall be known as the "Legislature of the State of Yap."

Cross-reference:  The Legislature is established pursuant to the provisions of Article V of the Constitution of the State of Yap.  The constitutional provision regarding the legislative power of the State is found in Yap Const., Art. V, Sect. 1 . That section states:  "The legislative power of the State is vested in the Legislature. Such power shall extend to all rightful subjects of legislation not inconsistent with this Constitution."

     102.  State Senator.
     A member of the Legislature shall be known as a "State Senator."

     103.  Designation of sessions.
     The Sixth Yap District Legislature shall be known as the "First Legislature of the State of Yap" on and after the effective date of the Constitution of the Federated States of Micronesia.  Each session held during the term of a Legislature shall be designated numerically with the first session held after the effective date of the Constitution being designated "First Special Session" or "First Regular Session". The organization, Rules of Procedure, proceedings and actions of the Sixth Yap District Legislature shall continue unaffected under the First Legislature of the State of Yap.

Commission Comment:  The effective date of the Constitution of the Federated States of Micronesia is May 10, 1979.  The effective date of the Constitution of the State of Yap is December 24, 1982.

     104.  Standing rules.
     Standing rules as adopted by the Legislature pursuant to the Constitution of the State of Yap shall govern the conduct of business at all sessions of the Legislature held prior to the next legislature, provided that such rules may be amended in accordance with their provisions.

Cross-reference:  It is provided in Yap Const., Art. V, Sect. 12, that the Legislature of the State of Yap shall determine the rules of its proceedings.

     105.  Publication of laws and resolutions.
     Within one hundred twenty days after the close of each session of the Legislature, the Governor shall cause all laws duly enacted at such session to be printed, indexed, and bound in book form, first the bills in the order of their becoming law and then resolutions in the order of their passage.
